Hello,
I’m Jennifer, an independent funeral celebrant based in Dorset. I create personal, memorable ceremonies filled with love, humour and sensitivity.
My ‘office’ is never closed
If you are my client I will be there for you 7 days a week.
I’m available for ceremonies across Dorset including Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne, Ferndown, Christchurch, Blandford and Dorchester.
I was inspired to become a funeral celebrant through my decision to organise and deliver my Dad’s funeral. I enjoyed making the service as personal as possible so that he was truly represented and would have enjoyed being there. Little did I know I would be congratulated by the funeral director afterwards for one of the best services he had ever attended. He offered me a job on the spot. Not the ending to my Dad’s funeral I was expecting!
My service to you will be a bespoke service. I know first hand how important it is to truly represent the uniqueness of everybody’s loved one. Every life is unique and every ceremony I deliver is tailor-made.
I’m also a professional musician in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra where I have been a violinist for many years. Music is vey personal and I will be able to guide you to find the perfect music choices; from traditional to contemporary and everything in-between.
I’m empathetic and a good listener and communicator. I bring a wealth of experience to the ceremonies I deliver. I will work alongside you and support you wherever you need so that together we can create a truly personal tribute (celebration of life, memorial, funeral, scattering or burial) for your loved one.
I’ll be there…
to be the voice you need.
This could be for a celebration of life, a ceremony, a service, a burial, an ashes scattering, a memorial, or a small gathering to remember a life.
My attention to detail means the ceremony will be as perfect as it can be. I trained with Civil Ceremonies and The Coffin Club and I’m fully aware of the many different ways there are to celebrate a life. I can conduct events for all denominations of religion, a mix of religions or non-religious. I deliver a professional ceremony with a smile – and if needed a hug – and that’s a promise!
Let’s celebrate
There are so many different ways to remember someone as every life is unique. You aren’t expected to know what to do. Experience and professional guidance are invaluable at such a time and I’m here to help.
I can project manage a ceremony, funeral, burial or scattering to your bespoke wishes. A ceremony in your own garden? No problem. At the pub? Let’s ask. On a boat, in the village hall, at a hotel… there are very few limits. Legally you can do what you want as long as you conform to ‘common decency’ and have permission.
Planning the ceremony
These days there are many choices as to how to celebrate a life, which is good as it gives you the freedom to do as you wish. However, it can also be overwhelming. Where to start? When to stop? I’ll be with you every step of the way and I can help you make the right choice.
After we’ve connected, I will meet with you to talk about the life you are remembering and celebrating. I will listen, ask questions and gather the stories to create a script. We work together to shape the kind of ceremony you want. After your final approval, we are ready.
